Most transition strips only really deal with one side of the join, leaving the other floor covering to hold itself in place at the edge. This one grips both sides, so where two different floorings meet — say laminate running into vinyl — neither edge is left loose to lift or fray over time.

Specifications
This is a transition trim built to grip both floor coverings at a join, rather than sitting over just one edge. It holds up to regular foot traffic and works with laminate, vinyl, wood, and similar flooring types on either side.

Where It’s Used
Comes up most at doorways, corridors, and room transitions where two different flooring types meet — offices, retail, and homes all use this kind of join fairly often, wherever a room changes flooring type partway through.

Fitting
Cuts to length with the same tools you’d use for either flooring type, and fixed once both floor coverings are laid up to the transition point. Worth checking both edges sit flush against the trim before fixing it down, since a gap on either side defeats the point of a twin grip over a standard single-sided trim.
