Long Description:
Filling a crack on its own usually just delays it coming back — the board’s still moving slightly underneath, and the filler cracks along the same line within a year. This scrim tape gets applied first, bridging the joint or crack with fibreglass mesh, so the plaster’s got something to key into rather than sitting over an unsupported gap.
Features & Benefits
- Fibreglass mesh reinforces the joint underneath the plaster
- Self-adhesive backing, no extra glue needed to position it
- Cuts and positions easily by hand
- Works on both new plasterboard joints and crack repairs
Specifications
This is a self-adhesive fibreglass mesh tape for reinforcing plasterboard joints and repairing cracks before plastering. It suits new drywall installations as well as repair work on walls and ceilings.
Where It’s Used
Comes up on every plasterboard joint on a new stud wall or ceiling, and just as often on crack repairs in older plaster where the board’s moved slightly over time.
Fitting
Press it directly over the joint or crack before filling, smoothing it flat so there’s no bubbling underneath — any lifted section won’t bond properly with the filler over the top. Cuts to length with scissors or a knife, no special tools needed. Comes through the same suppliers as the rest of our building materials range.
