Standard backer boards do the structural job, but they don’t do much for heat loss — especially over underfloor heating, where a lot of that warmth can end up going sideways into the substrate instead of up into the room. This board is built to cut that loss down while still giving you a solid, stable surface for tiling.

Specifications
This is an insulated tile backer board, built for both wall and floor use. It’s moisture-resistant, so it holds up in wet rooms and bathrooms without breaking down, and it’s rated for use under underfloor heating without blocking heat transfer upward. It takes ceramic, porcelain, or natural stone tile without flexing, and cuts to size on site with standard tools — no specialist kit needed.

Where It’s Used
Comes up most in bathrooms, kitchens, wet rooms, shower enclosures, and anywhere with underfloor heating where you don’t want the insulation working against the tiling. Also holds up fine in commercial washrooms and utility rooms.

Fitting
Cuts down with the same tools you’d use on a standard backer board, so there’s no extra kit needed. Worth double-checking your substrate’s flat before boarding over it — insulated boards don’t forgive an uneven base the way a thicker traditional board might.
