If you’ve ever seen a verge crack right at the top, near the ridge, that’s usually where mortar gives out first. It’s the point that moves the most — thermal expansion, wind, the works — so a bedded joint there doesn’t last as long as the rest of the verge. The centre piece gets rid of that problem by clipping in mechanically instead of relying on mortar to hold.
It’s built to go with the Dryverge Universal units already running along your gable, so once it’s fitted the whole verge is mortar-free start to finish, not just patched at one end.
What you get
- Clips into the ridge/verge junction, no mortar needed
- Matches up with Dryverge Universal units for a continuous run
- GRP construction, holds up to UV without going brittle or fading
- Once it’s in, that’s it — no repointing later
Specs
- Material: GRP
- Colours: Black, Grey, Terracotta, Brown
- Fixing: Mechanical clip
- Fits: Ridge/apex junction of the verge
On fitting
This one usually goes in last, after the Universal units are already up along the gable. Worth taking a bit of care here — it’s the spot where mortar verges typically fail first, so getting the seal right at this junction is really what extends the life of the whole thing, not just the ridge itself.
Picking a colour
Black or Grey if you’re on slate or concrete tiles. Terracotta or Brown if it’s clay or a heather blend. Try to match it to whichever Universal colour you’ve already gone with — otherwise the run looks like two different products stuck together instead of one line.
