Long Description:
Carpet edges that aren’t held down properly at a transition tend to fray or lift over time, and that’s usually where a trip hazard starts. This strip grips into the carpet backing with a zig-zag edge, so the carpet stays put right at the point it meets the tile, rather than working loose from foot traffic going back and forth across it.
Features & Benefits
- Zig-zag teeth grip the carpet backing to stop it lifting at the edge
- Covers the transition cleanly on the tile side
- Holds up to regular foot traffic
- Cuts to length with standard tools
Specifications
This is a transition strip with a zig-zag gripping profile on the carpet side, designed to secure the carpet edge where it meets tiled flooring. It holds up to everyday foot traffic and reduces the trip hazard that comes from a loose or fraying carpet edge.
Where It’s Used
Comes up most at doorways, corridors, and room entrances where carpet runs into a tiled area — offices, hotels, schools, and retail spaces all use this kind of transition regularly, as much as homes do.
Fitting
Cuts to length with the same tools you’d use for the flooring, and the carpet gets pressed onto the zig-zag teeth once the strip’s fixed in place. Worth checking the carpet’s pulled taut before pressing it onto the teeth, since any slack left in means it can still lift slightly at the very edge over time. Comes through the same suppliers as the rest of our building materials range.
