Long Description:
Silicone sealant round a bath or sink does the job at first, but it’s the kind of thing that goes grey and starts peeling within a year or two, especially somewhere that gets used daily. This tape gets round that — peel the backing, stick it down over the gap, and it stays flexible rather than cracking the way sealant eventually does.
Features & Benefits
- Self-adhesive, no sealant gun or drying time needed
- Flexes into corners and uneven edges as you apply it
- Blocks water getting in behind baths, sinks, and worktops
- Cuts down on the mould that tends to build up in a cracked sealant line
Specifications
This is a self-adhesive, flexible sealing tape for gaps around baths, sinks, showers, and worktops. It conforms to corners and uneven surfaces as it’s applied, and holds up to constant moisture without the cracking that sealant eventually gets.
Where It’s Used
Comes up most around bath edges, shower trays, kitchen worktops against a wall, and basin surrounds — anywhere there’s a gap that needs sealing but you’d rather not deal with a sealant gun and 24 hours of drying time.
Fitting
Goes on once the surface is clean and dry — any grease or old sealant residue on a kitchen worktop will stop it sticking properly, so it’s worth cleaning the joint first. Press it in firmly at corners so it beds into the gap rather than sitting proud. Comes through the same suppliers as the rest of our building materials range.
